We understand that some students may need an adaptable room, which is why we offer a range of accessible rooms across all of our six residences.

Facilities

The facilities and specification of each room vary but, in general, you can expect to find:

  • Fitted wardrobe with adjustable rail.
  • Adjustable height desk.
  • Fitted shelving and storage at various levels.
  • Wheelchair friendly wet room with shower, sink, toilet, and support handles.
  • Some rooms have fitted emergency cords and alarms.
  • Communal kitchens include adjustable height worktops with sinks, low-level cupboards, and side opening ovens.

We are not always able to provide all the adaptations required in all accommodation.  We will try to provide a variety of options depending on needs and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Applying for Accessible Accommodation

Once you have put the University of Lincoln as your Firm choice on UCAS, you will receive an email from Accommodation Services inviting you to apply for accommodation.

If you have additional requirements due to disability or medical condition that will affect your room allocation, you will need to register with our Student Wellbeing Team.

You can do this by emailing studentwellbeing@lincoln.ac.uk.

Student Services

The Student Wellbeing Centre liaises with the Accommodation Team to allocate accessible rooms depending on the needs of the students. Once you have completed your application, we will work together to allocate you in a room in one of your preferred residences that is suitable to your needs.

The University of Lincoln has a wide range of support networks. For more information, please click on the links below.
