Your voice made a change!

In November 2021, we ran the Global Student Living Index survey, where over 900 current residents provided feedback on their experience of living in University-managed accommodation.

In the results, we were pleased to see that 87% of students received their first choice of accommodation and 90% voted their accommodation as good or very good for overall satisfaction.

There were also some areas of improvement, and the Accommodation Team has given time to how we can change three of the biggest feedback areas moving forward:

1 Internet Connection

We acknowledge that some students have issues with internet connectivity and speed. Access to high-quality Wi-Fi is essential, so this summer we will be starting the process of swapping to a new provider.

More information on the rollout of this and the order of residences to come.

2 Social Activities

From the Residential Wardens to Students’ Union, the University of Lincoln offers a rich calendar of events and social activities.

To further improve the social element of living in University-managed accommodation we ran a focus group to learn more about what residents would like. Key takeaways from this were:

  • More opportunity to meet other students living in your hall, or in other residences
  • A monthly newsletter with a round-up of sports events, Residential Warden activities and the Students’ Union
  • A wider variety of events for residents such as film nights

While we are busy planning the next steps, make sure you are following Accommodation Services on social media, where we regularly post competitions and events.

3 Communication

Your wellbeing, safety and experience whilst living with us is our main priority. So, we are making a conscious effort to communicate with our residents more frequently.

New for 2022, we have launched ‘Wellbeing Wednesdays’ where on the last Wednesday of the month we run a reception or social media-based activity. In January, to celebrate Veganuary we gave out free Alpro Almond milk. This month, we are running a competition to win one of five rice cookers.

The team is here Monday to Saturday and our reception doors are always open if you need us.

The next survey will run in the Spring.
