Now that the UCAS deadline has closed, you might be thinking, what next?

As well as knuckling down to get the course entry grades, you will also need to think about applying for student finance and accommodation.

Visit Us

The best way to answer any questions and get to know Lincoln is by coming to visit us at an Offer Holder Day. These events start on February 5th and run right through to April. Here, you can tour accommodation and campus, speak to the Finance and Admissions Teams and, have a taster session for your course.

Head to the University of Lincoln website to find out more about Offer Holder Days and book your space.

How to Apply for Accommodation

Booking University-managed accommodation is easy and, we guarantee a room for all first-year students. You don’t need to panic or rush but, to avoid disappointment, we recommend booking as soon as you have decided that Lincoln is the place for you.

To apply for accommodation, you will need to have firmed your place to study at the University of Lincoln.

Around 48 hours after updating UCAS, you will receive an email from Accommodation Services inviting you to the Student Portal. Here you can apply for accommodation, listing your top four residences in preference order.

Our team will review your application and reserve you a room based on availability and preference. You will be notified, via email, that there has been an update in your application.

At this point, to secure your room, you will need to make a £49 down payment. This payment is deducted from your first-term rent fee and is not a deposit.

Once the down payment has been made, the team will allocate you an apartment and room. You might not hear anything from us for a while, as room allocations will begin in the spring.

What Happens Next?

You don’t need to worry about anything else until the summer when you will need to start packing to move to Lincoln!

Arrivals will take place towards the end of September and, you will need to book an arrival slot to move into your accommodation.

Arrival slots can be booked as part of the Online Induction, which also needs completing before you arrive. The induction includes health and safety and registering for your free Endsleigh contents insurance.

What Do I Need to Pay?

There are three options for paying your rent instalments:

  • Upfront – You can pay the full amount in one payment at the start of the tenancy.
  • Termly (3 instalments) – Payments are made in three instalments that line up with the Student Maintenance Loan payments.
  • Monthly – New for 2022, rent payments can be made in monthly instalments. The number of months you will be paying across depends on the contract length: 40 weeks is 9 instalments, 46 weeks is 10 and 50 weeks is 11.

You will be able to select your prefered choice on the Student Portal.

All rent payments are managed by the Finance Department.
